How we make money
Almost every website that talks about credit cards is paid by the card issuers. That shapes what it tells you. We are paid by you, and this page explains what that changes.
Our only revenue is your subscription
£29.99 a year, or £3.49 a month. One tier, one household.
That is the whole business model. We take no commission, referral fee, bounty or other payment from any card issuer, bank or loyalty programme, and we carry no advertising and no affiliate links. Nobody pays us to be mentioned, and nobody can.
What we do
We optimise what you already hold. You tell us the cards, accounts and balances in your household. We work out how the spending you have already forecast could be allocated across them so that more of it lands on thresholds and benefits you actually want. The calculation is deterministic and every assumption is visible and adjustable.
We keep the rules right. Card and loyalty rules change constantly. We monitor the official sources, a person reviews every change before it reaches your plan, and every rule shows you where it came from and when we last checked it. That maintenance is most of what you are paying for.
We show our working. Every recommendation explains itself. If you think our valuation of a point is wrong, change it and watch the plan change. You should be able to disagree with this tool.
What we do not do
- We do not accept issuer commission. There is no commercial relationship between us and any issuer or programme.
- We do not provide application links or introductions. The product is designed and tested not to present, offer or link to any credit agreement, and not to produce a personalised list of products for you to apply for. Our Benefit Directory is a factual reference library you choose to browse, identical for every user and listed alphabetically.
- We do not ask for passwords. We do not connect to your bank, your cards or your loyalty accounts, and there is nowhere in our system for a credential to be stored. You type in your balances. Sharing loyalty account credentials with a third party can also breach a programme's own terms, and we are not putting your points at risk to save you two minutes a month.
- We do not advise on borrowing. No “pay this card off first”, no balance transfers, no promotional rates. Travel Upgrade assumes you clear your statement in full every month. If you do not, the interest will dwarf anything you earn in points, and this is not the right product for you.
- We do not dress a projection up as a promise. When we show a number in pounds we are converting points using an assumption, and we show that assumption next to the number. Credible UK sources put the realistic value of an Avios somewhere between roughly 0.5p and 2p, which means the same 100,000 points is worth anywhere from about £500 to £2,000 depending on how you redeem. So we say “£1,240 of projected travel value, at your valuation of 1.1p per Avios”. We do not say “save £1,240”. Figures on this page were last verified 14 August 2026.
What we are not
We are not financial advisers, and Travel Upgrade is not financial advice. We do not assess whether any product suits you. Decisions about which cards to hold, keep or close are yours.
Zenpath is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, and we are not a credit broker. We do not introduce anyone to lenders, present applications or accept issuer commission. Because Travel Upgrade is not a regulated service, complaints cannot go to the Financial Ombudsman Service — they come to us, and our complaints policy sets out how we handle them.
We cannot find you a seat. Reward availability is entirely in the airline's or hotel's hands. We can get you to the voucher; we cannot make an airline release a seat in half term.
Try it before you pay
Put in your household's cards, accounts and expected spending and we will show you one number for free: the projected travel value you are on track for, and what an optimised allocation of the same spending would reach.
If the difference is small, we will say so. A household with one free card and modest spending may genuinely not have enough moving parts to be worth optimising, and we would rather you found that out in five minutes than after £29.99.
